[Jeesum Crowe]: without labels what would we be? I mean, we'd be nothing, right? We'd be part of this big blob of humanity. It would destroy originality, differences, sociality. If you've never noticed those cosidered whatever they are considered usually consider themselves that, and don't mind, and consider others what the others consider themselves. It's just something we do to make life simpler, easier to manage, and people easier to judge. I mean, we're just giving styles a name. If we didn't we couldn't distinguish one from the next.
[2000HRS]: If there are labels.. there are posers. I'm not talking about soup can labels. These labels started "name calling", and a way of life which greater power pick on smaller power. If there are no labels then there will be somewhat, less suicidal. We have self-names to label ourselves but we don't need to label ourselves as goths, punks, emos etc. so we can feel secure
[Jeesum Crowe]: You're gonna be made fun of anyway. You could get called "Stick girl", "fatso", "tubby", "lard-ass" anything you figure. Got a big nose? There ya go. Everyone's got a certain deformation that's gonna launch them into the lovely bliss of name calling. I mean, you drop a name and everyone finds a way to make fun of it. It's just something you've got to learn to deal with, and if you can't deal with it, that's no body else's fault. It's human nature to taunt, whether it's about style or not. Plus-- Punk came around in the eighties as a form of rebellion, they named themselves after the music originally invented for the same purpose. They took pride in being a punk. Everywhere you look people...
[Jeesum Crowe]: ... take pride in being punk, goth, emo, prep, slutty, bitchy, freaks, players.
[2000HRS]: ahh.. I'm just just trying to say about labels in a music kinda shit... but also in "stick girl" "fagget" "queer" etc. There can be alot of opinions. Each to their own, right?
[Jeesum Crowe]: [Monoxide Child] calls themself a weirdo, [squeezy] and [huminna] are part of 'metal hedz', [frånvarande] says 'IM A BAAADASS!!!', and your own screennames include 'freak', so, really, everyone in this anti-label club has labelled themselves.
[Augury]: *bursts in and giggles some* Hey. So, aren't you protesting false labels, not the description of a certain kind of people. Like, if we didn't have labels, and everyone was just 'a person' with whatever name, how bland would that be?
[2000HRS]: lol.. haha.. that's my old email address which one of my friend who called me "freak" because of the way of my thinking. It's more of in a friendly way.. not a labelling way. I have no control over who join in this wiki because I didn't put password. Plus, I can argue with you all day if you want but I can't convince to you that labels are fuckedup. And you can't convince me that labels are good... you know it. Arguing has no good outcome but hatred.
[2000HRS]: I got hacked into my aim sn... so do you think I will put more recent email addresses up? Not a chance.
[2000HRS]: Bald is good and clear.
[Jeesum Crowe]: I'd be glad to hate you ^.^ No, but, really. It's just ironic that everyone in here is sporting a label-induced name. But I'm not gonna join, I mean I would, because when I'm not thinking about it, I really hate labels, but when I think about it a bit, I just don't think we'd be anywhere without them. I mean, each music style comes with a clothing style, and you've got to name it or it doesn't mean anything, and then it's pointless. And then we all become one thing and unoriginal, and that's boring.
[Augury]: i see.
[2000HRS]: Hmm.. let's see. When you do somethin which is out of the boundaries of labels.. people will try to find a way to label it.. don't they? Fuck the clothes.. they all have labels. I'm talking about people. It's up to a person if he/she wants to wear what they feel like. Original is something out of boundary.. not somethin inside the boundary. What you call "unoriginal" is way more fun than being the same old shit ;)
[Jeesum Crowe]: Yeah, so, punk is just a clothing/music label, it's not a personality label, or a mentality label. So, don't treat it that way and just forget about it, you know? Labels aren't that big, important, or bad.
[2000HRS]: To some people they are.
[Jeesum Crowe]: only to people who like to make a big deal out of it. Everyone else lays back and doesn't worry. You should try that some time, it's really good fun.
[2000HRS]: Everyone's different. I don't worry alot.. but I just et depressed most of the times of my life.. don't ask why because I wouldn't tell you why. There are some people who make shits big.. but not some. You gotta learn that too.
[Jeesum Crowe]: I get depressed a lot, too, and I don't even let labels bug me. I think it's just human, in the society we live in with the pressures of civilization and all that shit everyone hates, that's what causes depression. It's not being called a name, it's the whole wide fucked up world.
[2000HRS]: Uh-huh.. would you like people calling you names, and flipping you off everywhere you go? Would that make you more of a suicidal?
[Jeesum Crowe]: Uhm, heh, that happened to me before, and I was suicidal, and a cutter, but then I realised it was stupid and pointless and I got help and now I'm fine. I couldn't care less. I learned it the hard way, but no matter what I'm glad I'm here, taunted or not.
[2000HRS]: There's my point. I think it's pretty clear.
[Jeesum Crowe]: Your point is that over all it doesn't really matter and people are stupid to think it does but if we didn't have it we wouldn't have anything to call anybody and we wouldn't be able to talk about different styles because they wouldn't have seperate names? Whaaaaaaaaaaat
[2000HRS]: Where you got that? That's your opinion. What I meant is that labels can make you feel depressed.. and there's even suicides caused by labels. If you don't get what I'm tryin to say.. it's just useless. You don't need a damn label to know what kind of person you are... If you don't get it.. well.. it's just a waste.
[Jeesum Crowe]: No, I get it, but I mean, you need a label to be able to express to other people who you are. I mean, you can't just be yourself within yourself you've got to be yourself to the world.
[2000HRS]: That's a total "x" (wrong). You don't judge yourself... calling yourself names? Don't you think that's pathetic? I mean you wouldn't like someone calling you "punk, goth etc.", pointin and laughin at you.. but you want to look inside the mirror and do the same thing? Hmm.. you can be yourself within yourself.. it's not your purpose to describe yourself it's their eyes which judge us.
[Jeesum Crowe]: It's not a name unless you think of it as a name, just as music isn't music unless you mean it to be, or art isn't art unless you mean it to be, boundaries are blurred. Punk is a music style, and a fashion style, if I dress punk, I sure as hell am gonna say "I'm punk" if I dress goth and listen to goth music I'm sure as hell gonna say "I'm goth." I've done the goth thing, the new wave thing, the punk thing, the prep thing, the dork thing. I dressed that way to suit who I am, and I have no problem in all the world saying "I am ____" because that's who I am. Right now I'm kind of punk/goth borderline, I have no problem. That's just something to describe what I am so that other people can...
[Jeesum Crowe]: ... understand. I'm not making fun of myself or calling myself a name, I'm just stating my style.
[2000HRS]: You don't get what I'm trying to say.. and you sort of kept saying the same thing.. so am I. This is going nowhere.
[Jeesum Crowe]: Yeah, I figured the only way to get you to understand was to pound it in a few times over. Anyway. But, yeah. Point is, I don't think labels are bad, people just think about them too much and make them seem more than what they are, and you think they're bad 'cause apparently they cause suicide, and apparently your self-labelling buds up there all agree with the bad-label thing (an ironic gesture I still don't get) But to each his own, like you said. Imma go wander off now.
[2000HRS]: They're not my buds.. some that I know on here but some who just came and join. You wouldn't like to be in the middle of the crowd and getting laughed at.. or maybe you havn't had that disaster.
[Jeesum Crowe]: I have. It's not a life-ending sequence. If you end life by your own hand, that's no one's fault but your own. No one is making you. Your life is your choice.
[2000HRS]: So we're on suicide topic now? haha.
[Jeesum Crowe]: I dunno, I'm the kind of person who says the first thing that comes to mind.
[2000HRS]: Lol it's aight.. yes your life is your decision but people and their cruelity are what push you to suicide.
[Jeesum Crowe]: Suicide is an extreme action that shouldn't be induced by name-calling. Everyone in the entire universe is called something at some point in their lives. You yourself right now probably think I'm one fucked over idiot, but you're just not gonna say it right now to me. You make fun of people in your head or to your friends on a daily basis, I bet, and you contribute to the whole circle of things, every single person does the same thing, and no one's going to stop it, so everyone should just learn to accept it as human nature and ignore it and that can be the end of it mattering, and we can all move on, but people who care too much about it, those're the people who ultimately get hurt.
[Jeesum Crowe]: So I'm saying people should stop making such a big deal about it, leave it alone, back away, and busy themselves with more important issues, like. World hunger or something, I mean, that kills people, too.
[2000HRS]: How can you care about someone else when you're the one who's fucked over? I'm not calling you names in my head or what-so-ever because it's not worth it. There are some people like you who don't care what the hell's goin on but there's some people who are so sensitive.
[Jeesum Crowe]: How did that first question pertain to anything? And I know, that's what I'm saying. People are too sensitive, they should learn not to be. I used to be sensitive. It was a waste of time.
[2000HRS]: Learn not to be sensitive? It's not a habit... it's an emotion. You can't control your emotion.. maybe you think you can but one day you gonna break down. The first question that i asked has to do with world hunger. FUCK MAN! are we ever gonna be able to end this argument?
[Jeesum Crowe]: I don't think so. Fun, eh? Together we've done, like 40 comments. It's a mutual merry-go-round
[2000HRS]: Help your world inside of you before you try to help the outside world. Arguments don't excite me.. it's sick.
[Jeesum Crowe]: Yeah, that's what I mean. Fix yourself, but don't waste time wallowing in self-pity for a while before you start. Start right now. Let things slide. Realise it's not a big-ass deal. It's a name. In twenty years no one's gonna remember, so you might as well forget, too, and do better things with your brain cells. I don't like arguing much either. Especially since I finally found the stomach medicine and it's all icky in my throat.
[2000HRS]: haha... well.. i won't say anythin back. I can tell you that it's not but it's not gonna make you stop.. so there we go :D
[Jeesum Crowe]: Well... you're evil. But you're cool, I like you. Chops to you. I'd raise my glass, or tip my hat, but I don't have either of them within reaching distance.
